Help us grow Indiana’s corn industry

Your leadership can help carry the Indiana corn industry forward and benefit your fellow farmers. The 17-member, peer-elected board of directors oversees the use of checkoff funds for the Indiana Corn Marketing Council (ICMC).

Petitions for the election — held annually in August — are accepted through June 30. Three-year board seats are up for election in districts 2, 5 and 8. At-large board seats are also up for election.

Below are seats up for election in 2018.
District 2- One seat up for re-election
District 5- One seat up for re-election
District 8- One seat open
At Large- Two seats up for re-election

District 2 Petition

District 2 includes the counties of St. Joseph, Elkhart, Marshall, Kosciusko, Fulton, Miami, Wabash, Cass and Carroll.

District 5 Petition

District: 5 includes the counties of Grant, Howard, Clinton, Tipton, Madison, Hamilton, Boone, Hendricks, Marion, Hancock, Shelby, Morgan, Johnson, Rush, Bartholomew and Decatur.

District 8 includes the counties of Monroe, Brown, Lawrence, Jackson, Orange, Washington, Crawford, Perry, Harrison and Floyd.

At-large Petition

At-large seats represent the entire state of Indiana and a farmer from any district can run for at-large seats.

All candidates must be:

  • A registered voter within the State of Indiana
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Currently engaged in the business of producing and marketing corn in Indiana under their own name or the name of an entity in which they have ownership
  • A resident of the district that they seek to represent
  • A producer of corn and who has paid an assessment on corn within the previous two years

Fill out the appropriate petition and return it to ICMC.Petitions must be postmarked or faxed by June 30, 2018.

Absentee ballots will be available at county extension offices July 16, 2018.  The in-person voting period will be August 13-17 at the county extension offices.

The National Corn Growers Association DuPont New Leader Program is a hands-on communications and leadership training program designed for corn growers who are just becoming active in their industry and are interested in strengthening their skills so they can better serve American agriculture. Up to two farming operations, represented by a couple or individual, per NCGA-affiliated state will be chosen to participate and all expenses will be covered.
