Because the legislative, regulatory and rule-making processes have an impact on corn producers within the state, educational outreach to government officials is vital.

ICMC began its Public Affairs Initiative in 2012 to help build an organization through alliances and become effectively involved through educational outreach. While checkoff funds may be used to educate legislators, no checkoff funds can or will be used to influence government officials, legislation or rule-making.

Another goal of ICMC Public Affairs Initiative is to create alliances and build relationships with key industries and partners.
